How to Set Up Tips

This tutorial shows how to set up Tips inside Payroll Mate® software.

Payroll Mate Software has 2 tip income categories built into the software.
Tips Received Directly by Employee (Cash Tips)–tips will be excluded from net pay & taxed as income
Tips Paid by Employer (Paycheck Tips)–tips will be included in net pay & taxed as income

If these tip income categories do not meet your needs, then you can add a new tip income category

You will need to apply the tip income to each employee as needed

  • Click → Employees from shortcuts
  • Select the employee from the list
  • Click → Edit
    This will open the Modify Employee Wizard
  • Click → Next until you reach the Incomes page
  • Checkmark the tip income(s) that need to be applied to this employee
  • Click → Next until you reach the last page
  • Click → Finish
