Payroll Mate has the ability to create tax categories if they are not in the software already.

- Go to → Company
- Click → Tax Categories
- Click → Add
- Title/Name the Tax that you will be creating.
- Click on the down arrow to pick the type of calculation.
- Depending on the calculation that was chosen, enter the rates or the amount.
- Wage Base is the maximum dollar amount that is subject to the tax.
- Select if the Tax is paid by employee or employer.
- Click OK to save.
